About the Artist
Guitarist with Passion.
Professional Guitarist Javier Suarez Rodriguez, is internationally known for his dexterity and expertise on a variety of genres on the guitar. He actively performs in Miami as a multi-styles solo professional guitarist, linking the character and sound of Spanish and Flamenco guitar in musical genres such as, flamenco, classic guitar, rumbas and sevillanas, american classical music, pop, modern, latin styles, reggae, country and more.
During his time in Cuba, Javier created the flamenco music trio Jaleos, together with the singer Raul Gonzalez, fusing flamenco music with Cuban and international rhythms. The group later on expanded its format and its repertoire towards an alternative musical approach, mixing genres such as blues, funk, rock, reggae and Cuban rhythms. This group later on received the āBest Fusion Groupā award in the Festival Cuerda Viva, Cuba.
Additionally, he has been the co-founder of the Classical Guitar Orchestra A Tempo in Pinar del Rio, Cuba, and also the guitar duet Treze Cordas with Carlos Garcia, in Asturias, Spain.
In 2018, he entered the Cristina Heeren Flamenco Art Foundation, where he studied Intermediate and Advanced flamenco guitar until 2020, endorsed with said degree. He received classes at the Cristina Heeren Foundation from great flamenco guitar masters such as: NiƱo de Pura, Paco Cortes, Pedro Sierra and Pedro Barragan.
He has received courses and masterclasses from guitarists such as Rafael Riqueni, Alfredo Lagos, Rafael Rodriguez āEl Cabezaā, Juan Ramon Caro, among others.
Currently, he is part of the flamenco and fusion music group āSon Flamencoā together with the singer La Negri and the dancer El NiƱo Uz, in Miami, USA.
Javier has been playing the guitar for 23 years.
